Emotet is a Trojan that is primarily spread through spam emails (malspam). A malicious script, macro-enabled document files, or a malicious link can all be used to spread the infection. Emotet was originally designed as a banking malware that attempted to sneak onto your computer and steal sensitive and private information. Later versions of the software saw the addition of spamming and malware delivery services. Now in its new technique, Emotet is seen using a self-extracting RAR file to deliver a payload with help of a batch file to automatically supply the password to unlock the file and deploys malware such as Crypto miners and trojans.
